Brake Discs and Drum Replacement
Brake Part Maintenance for your Vehicle’s Safety
Just like other parts of your vehicle, brake drums and discs can wear down over time reducing braking efficiency and increasing your stopping distance.
Brake Discs are the flat, round components that are clamped by the brake pads to stop your car. Depending on the material they’re made from and how often the car is stopping the lifespan of brake discs can vary considerably.
Drums are found in many older vehicles and use friction of a drum rotating against your wheel to slow it down. These thin over time, and can wear out reducing braking performance or making a grinding or squealing sound.
Brake discs and Drums should be checked at least every 100,000km.

Replacing the components
For disc brakes, we’ll put in the new disc and check if new brake pads are also required. For drums, we’ll check if you need to have new brake shoes and that the new drum fits snugly and safely. We only use high quality parts and have expert machines to ensure that everything fits well and is safe.
Testing
Safety is important so we’ll check that the brakes are working at low speeds before testing at full speed.
